The majority of the food contains both white as well as brown sugar. So, if you’re in doubt you can chuck those food items. 

Also, always watch out for foods containing toxic or unhealthy ingredients like:

  • Caramel
  • Beet Pulp
  • Molasses
  • Fructose and Sucrose
  • Sorbitol

If you see any of these ingredients in your dog’s food items, then immediately avoid them. 

WHAT IF YOUR DOG LOVES BROWN SUGAR? 

If your dog is into only a little bit of brown sugar then he’s going to be fine. Still, it is always great to check if he doesn’t develop any diarrhea or stomach disorders. Consuming too much brown sugar can lead to inflammation in the pancreas and can lead to excessive vomiting and lethargy. 

If you observe him getting sick with each passing day, immediately take him to the bet or just keep an eye for at least 48 hours before taking any step. 

WHAT SUGAR IS REALLY GREAT FOR DOGS? 

Like humans, there are sugars that are bad or good for dogs as well. Well, great sugars for dogs are mostly found in fruits like:

  • Bananas: Bananas are great for your dog’s intestines. 
  • Apples: It is great for your puppy’s digestive system and also cures his skin. 
  • Pears: It is great for treating diabetes in dogs. 
  • Blueberry: It is filled with fiber and vitamin C and rich antioxidants. This helps in keeping your dog’s heart-healthy.
